About

I'm Adrienne, a teacher, curriculum designer, and researcher in the Seattle area. I currently teach middle school computing and STEM.

I'm interested in how computing education can make more room for creativity, identity, culture, language, and the diverse knowledge and experiences students bring with them. Much of what I make and research grows directly out of things I notice, wonder about, or try with students in the classroom.

I really value learning and making things in community. Some of my favorite work has come from bringing together students, teachers, researchers, artists, and other people with different kinds of knowledge and figuring things out together.

I've been an educator for more than twenty years, mostly working with middle school students. I've taught computer science, engineering, robotics, physical computing, digital fabrication, science, and a few other things.

When I'm not teaching or working on projects, I like biking around my neighborhood on my green bike and hiking in the forest.
